Antonides Beach
A small, sheltered cove with gorgeous, crystal-clear waters and a few tamarisk trees for shade. It is located just a few meters away from our rooms, following the path to the left that leads to the steps down to the sandy shore. Since it has no beach bars or umbrellas, it preserves its absolute tranquility, making it ideal for those seeking an authentic and relaxing experience.
Megali Ammos
The main beach of Kanala is also located just a short distance away. It offers a wide, golden sandy shore with shallow waters, plenty of natural shade from tamarisk trees, as well as traditional tavernas where you can enjoy a meal right by the water.
Kolona Beach
The iconic landmark beach of Kythnos. A narrow strip of golden sand washed on both sides by turquoise waters.
Insider Tip: The dirt road leading to the beach is quite narrow and challenging. For a completely hassle-free experience, we recommend visiting early in the morning, or alternatively, by boat from the sea, departing from the main port of Kythnos, Merichas.
Episkopi
A beautiful, wide sandy beach with shallow, crystal-blue waters and tamarisk trees offering natural shade. Highly popular among youth and families, it is the ideal choice if you are seeking the comfort of a fully organized beach with beach bars, sunbeds, and easy access.
Insider Tip: Easily accessible via a paved road, it is the most relaxing option for a full day by the sea.
Apokrousi
One of the island's largest bays, sheltered from the winds, featuring fine sand and crystal-clear waters. It is the ideal choice if you are seeking the comfort of a fully organized beach with beach bars, sunbeds, and easy access.

Agios Sostis
The island's 'wind-sheltered' alternative. A beautiful, quiet bay famous for the iconic white chapel at the edge of the sandy shore.

Gaidouromantra
A beautiful, secluded coast with a pristine seabed. It is also ideal for snorkeling, thanks to its crystal-clear waters.
Insider Tip: Moderately challenging access (descending a hillside via steps). The beach is completely unorganized with no trees, so you will need to bring your own equipment, including a sun umbrella, water, and supplies.

"Kythnia" Cultural Festival
Every summer, the cultural heart of the island beats at 'Kythnia', the premier festival institution of Kythnos. From late July to mid-August, the picturesque alleys and squares are transformed into open-air stages hosting concerts, theatrical performances, art exhibitions, and traditional Greek nights.
If your stay coincides with the festival dates, we highly recommend attending one of the events. It is the perfect way to feel the island's vibrant pulse and enjoy an authentic summer experience under the Cycladic stars.
Thermiot Festivals (Panegyria)
The heartbeat of the island's cultural life is revealed through a rare, authentic traditional event. Whether small or large, the Thermiot festivals—known as 'panegyria'—begin in the evening and last all night long, offering the perfect setting for all-night celebrations filled with traditional meze dishes and local wine. Here, people rejoice and sing along with the 'zies'—the traditional local duet of violin and lute—drawing everyone into the whirl of the 'balos' dance with a perfect harmony of movement and music. If you happen to catch a festival during your stay, it is a must-try for a truly authentic island experience.
